The band's debut album "All Will Be Changed" was released in 1970. For me personally, this is an excellent album regardless it's prog or not. It doesn't matter, I think. If you like the style, go for it. Frumpy could be on par with the best organ based blues rock bands of the time. Although All Will Be Changed was not a CD that shook my world, it did spur my curiosity enough to try to get its follow up. And the music here is quite enjoyable too. A nice discovery.
They recorded their debut album All Will Be Changed in August 1970. To promote the album the band embarked on a fifty-night German tour with Spooky Tooth, as well as playing supporting slots with Yes, Humble Pie and Renaissance . Shortly after Frumpy disbanded, Rumpf, Kravetz and Schott recruited guitarist Frank Diez and drummer Curt Cress, both formerly with Munich-based jazz fusion combo Emergency, to form a "supergroup" called Atlantis. Atlantis, which has been described as "Frumpy repackaged with a more commercial hard-rock style," recorded their first album Atlantis in 1972, which was released early in 1973.

The album received both critical acclaim and commercial success. He was replaced in Frumpy by Erwin Kama, who had previously played in Murphy Blend, and Kama appears on several of the tracks on Frumpy's third album By The Way, being ousted halfway through recording in March 1972 when Kravetz rejoined the band. Baumann expressed a desire to establish a solo career also, and the band played a "farewell concert" on 26 June 1972 with Thomas Kretschmer on guitar. Musikexpress published an obituary for the band in August 1972.

In autumn of 1970, FRUMPY released the first album "All Will Be Changed" which contained only own material with the exception of a Richie Havens cover. The Following year guitarist Rainer Baumann joined FRUMPY and played on the bands second LP "Frumpy 2", which was rapped in a round plastic bag. In Germany, the album was well received and proved that rock music from Germany could live up to international standard. Their music combines jazz, soul and eastern elements with the keyboards as the most important instrument.
