The Bastard Noise is an electronic music project. The Bastard Noise has published recordings under various names over the years such as Man is the Bastard Noise, MITBNoise, The Skull and Bastard Noise. HistoryThe Bastard Noise was founded in 1991.
Bastard Noise have an extensive discography of very limited and hard to find releases, among which Skull Wave stands out for at least two reasons. First, it consists of a single, continuous 46-minute improvisation (live at Claremont Forum, August 3, 2002). Second, it remains very ambient, throughout.

Pioneering Powerviolence band Man is the Bastard was a driving force in deposing the electric guitar as hardcore’s only choice for lead instrument. Their unusual bass tunings paved the way for a number of noisy, aggressive acts that also thought laterally. When the group disbanded in the late '90s, it allowed some of its members to continue even more daring explorations into ambient noise and texture as Bastard Noise. ROGUE ASTRONAUT is an appropriately named set of songs, if one can call them that. Every track sounds like it could have been beamed from deep space, oozing with the subtle.
Bastard Noise began as a combination side project and alter ego (with early releases often bearing both names) of the powerviolence group Man Is The Bastard in June of 1991. ended, Bastard Noise continued, mostly through the use of so called "caveman electronics" (the term that Henry Barnes gave his homemade tube oscillators) and vocals. Since then, the project has gone through various forms and sounds ranging from heavy rock forms to power electronics to full on noise.

Bastard Noise is an American noise band founded in 1991 by musicians Eric Wood, Henry Barnes, and W. T. Nelson. The project started as a type of sister band to the trio's previous group Man Is The Bastard. While Man Is the Bastard broke-up in late 1997, the Bastard Noise project continued and acts as Wood's current project. Early recordings from the group's extensive discography were mostly self-released and predominately featured only electronics and vocals.
