If Cast of Thousands is largely inspired, the album's grand finale, "Grace Under Pressure", is damn near revelatory. Over a rollicking, cymbal-heavy drumbreak seemingly lifted from DJ Shadow's sampler, Elbow are joined again by the London Community Gospel Choir and the thousands of their fans from the Glastonbury show, as they all sing in unison, "We still believe in love, so fuck yo. It's as an incredibly moving moment; a wash of rebellious uprising over the sound of a band at the height of its creative powers.

Cast of Thousands is the second studio album by English rock band Elbow, released on 18 August 2003 in the UK and on 27 January 2004 in the US by V2 Records. The US version of the album contains two additional songs: "Whisper Grass" (which was a B-side.

Cast of Thousands is Elbow’s second studio album, released August 18 2003, and preceded by the single Fallen Angel. As is customary with Elbow’s earlier albums, a bonus disc was completed, featuring a music video for every track, as well as the official music videos of the first two singles. Lead singer Garvey has called these his hedonistic years, telling The Guardian in 2014: The skin fell off my head and I couldn’t sleep for weeks.

Elbow: Cast of Thousands. The japery is easy to understand after eavesdropping on this ruminative album, the follow-up to their Mercury-nominated debut, where the half-empty glass slowly trickles away its remaining contents. But there are a few last stabs at revenge. Singer Guy Garvey's feelings make themselves known under a deceptively tranquil mix of gospel choir, Sting-style jazz (weird but true) and electronic twitches. Revenge for what? It's never clear; Garvey seems to be merely a malcontent, with the phrasing of a romantic crooner and the peevishness of a saloon-bar philosopher

The Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album was awarded from 1983 to 2011 and from 2017 onwards. Until 1992 the award was known as Best Traditional Blues Performance and was twice awarded to individual tracks rather than albums. The award was discontinued after the 2011 Grammy season in a major overhaul of Grammy categories. From 2012 onwards, the category was merged with the Best Contemporary Blues Album category to form the new Best Blues Album category.

Elbow : Cast Of Thousands. Right, before we get started, could we all agree to forget a few things? 1) That you’ve ever seenElbow, lazily, bracketed with orthodox British guitar band. Because, while NME is determined not to slip into hysterical hype, ‘Cast Of Thousands’ is very good. Certainly, a record that anyone who’s ever demanded anything interesting from rock music should hear.
