Album · 1983 · 6 Songs. Imaginary Choreography Paki.

There's a crazy story behind this new release from the killer Antinote crew out of Paris. Paki-Visnadi is two Venetian musicians, Paki Zennaro and Gianni Visnadi, a guitarist and electronic composer respectively who got together one night.

Obvious comparisons can be made between the Paki - Visnadi record with the softer ambient side of vintage German electronic . Gottsching, Schnitzler, Cluster etc. but that would be too easy, as this recording stands alone with its uniquely Italian atmosphere of sophisticated and complex simplicity.

Gianni Visnadi, Paki Zennaro.

Paki & Visnadi is the collaborative project of Venetian artists Paki Zennaro and Gianni Visnadi, who initially recorded the music on Imaginary Choreography in 1984, with a view to it being used by dance schools. They made a handful of BASF LH Extra cassette copies, which they sent out to friends with homemade photocopy inserts. Johanna Heather Anselmo, the partner of Antinote co-founder Iueke (real name Gwen Jamois) stumbled across one of these original demo tapes at a market in Paris. Jamois tracked down Zennaro and Visnadi, who agreed for the music to be mastered and released.

My copy has lots of pops and clicks, despite being pretty new and well looked after. Not sure if it is the original recording, bad press or something else? Maybe the volume issue?
Pryl
Migration is the star of this release. I am glad it is long.
Kikora
Sounds pretty good to me. It is possible to get decent results mastering from a cassette. Tape decadence can actually add a lot in certain circumstances.

Great record indeed!Dynamics on the vinyl are very low and the whole album is very, very quiet. I have to turn the volume up more than25% than usual. Any similar experiences anyone? Thanks in advance.Chris

yes, unfortunatly I guess the mastertape wasn't perfect. This is a great record, though.
Ishnllador
It's a creeper, mix builds up over first 3-4 mins
Nilador
Yes, very low as well. I think it's due to quality of the recording at that time.

Neufunk is right. This is a LONG PLAYER. The more music you have the quieter it is but it doesn't affect the dynamic.
Jaberini
might be to do with the length of the tracks?
