James Edward Carr (June 13, 1942 – January 7, 2001), was an American rhythm and blues and soul singer, described as "one of the greatest pure vocalists that deep Southern soul ever produced. Born to a Baptist preacher's family in Coahoma, Mississippi, he moved with his parents to Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of three. Carr began singing in church, and performed in gospel groups including the Harmony Echoes, at the same time as making tables on an assembly line in Memphis.

I'm a Fool for You Lyrics James Carr. Album A Man Needs a Woman. James Carr - I'm a Fool for You Songtext. Oh, I'm a fool for you I'm a fool for you If you want me to, baby I'll break some rules for you. (Means I'm a fool for you I'll be a tool for you). Ain't nothing, baby I wouldn't do for you Now listen. I'd make you A rainbow in the sky Just to master the facts Of how they glitter in your eye. I'm a fool for you, baby I'm a fool for you If you want, baby I'll break all the rules for you. Ain't nothing, baby I wouldn't do for you. (Maybe work two jobs Seven days and nights a week You can do most anything Yours to do whatever you please)

Album A Man Needs a Woman. I'm a Fool for You Lyrics. (Maybe work two jobs Seven days and nights a week You can do most anything Yours to do whatever you please)

Gritty Poignant Earthy Passionate Plaintive Bittersweet Earnest Intimate Melancholy Yearning. If ever there was a soul singer who rivaled Otis Redding's raw, deep emotional sensuality, it was James Carr, and the proof is in the pudding with You Got My Mind Messed Up. Carr was one of the last country-soul singers to approach any chart given to him as if it was a gift from God. Carr was Redding's rival in every respect if for no other reason than the release of this, his debut album recorded in 1966. The 12 songs here, many of them covered by other artists, are all soul classics merely by their having been sung and recorded by Carr.
