98 USD. THE BEATLES - WHITE ALBUM OVERVIEW: In November 1968, millions of double LPs were shipped to record stores worldwide ahead of that tumultuous year’s most anticipated music event: the November 22nd release of The BEATLES (soon to be better.

The Black Album is an unofficial compilation album of solo material by members of the British rock group the Beatles. It was created by the American actor Ethan Hawke, and became widely known as a result of its inclusion in the 2014 film Boyhood.

The Beatles - familiarly dubbed "The White Album" after its mostly blank cover - represented the Fabs returning to band-centric recording, though there’s still some orchestrated moments on the album. It also presented the most individualistic musical approach among the increasingly isolated members of the quartet; it was famously described by Lennon as the work of four solo artists using the others as backing musicians. The remixed album isn’t quite the revelation that the deluxe version of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was last year - but that’s to be expected. Pepper was a heavily orchestrated album that producer Martin admitted suffered from mediocre conversion to stereo; by the time they got to The White Album, The Beatles were much more adept at studio recording.

Upon learning about this new album, The Beatles (especially John) wanted to use the "butcher cover" instead. Although quite hesitant, the record label went ahead with production. As could be expected for 1966, the response from distributors in the US was one of alarm. Most retailers refused to carry the album in their stores at all with this shocking cover, although they were very anxious for a new Beatles album.

The Beatles is a 1968 album by the band of the same name, The Beatles. Its cover included no photographs, but was a simple white jacket, with the band's name die-stamped onto the paper. Early copies also included a serial number. The plain white cover led fans and listeners to call the record the "White Album". In time, even the band and their company, Apple Corps, began to use this name.

The Beatles (commonly known as The White Album) is the eponymous tenth studio album by English rock band The Beatles.

The album was eventually released 18 months later in May 1970, several months after the band had broken up. The filming was originally intended for a planned TV special, but organically turned into something completely different, climaxing with The Beatles’ legendary performance on the roof of Apple's Savile Row London office - which took place exactly 50 years ago today  .
