In 1963 19-year old Scott Engel arranged this song and recorded it together with John Stewart. It was first released as sung by "The Dalton Brothers".

Scott Walker is the stage name of the American singer-songwriter Noel Scott Engel (1943–2019), former lead singer with The Walker Brothers. He lived in the United Kingdom from the 1960s until his death. His earliest material was released under his own name in the late 1950s. His most successful period in his career was between the years 1965 and 1970 where in he released three albums with The Walker Brothers, before going on to record a number of popular albums as a solo artist.

John Coburn Stewart (September 5, 1939 – January 19, 2008) was an American songwriter and singer. He is known for his contributions to the American folk music movement of the 1960s while with the Kingston Trio (1961–1967) and as a popular music songwriter of the Monkees' No. 1 hit "Daydream Believer" and his own No. 5 hit "Gold" during a solo career spanning 40 years that included almost four dozen albums and more than 600 recorded songs.

These are Scott Walker's 10 essential albums to own on vinyl. Walker was born Noel Scott Engel, and in his early singing years was styled as a Paul Anka-wannabe (songs about ‘Young Love’ et al: many cash-in compilations exist but don’t bother) before he joined The Walker Brothers, avatars of booming, Spector-ish romance: ‘My Ship Is Coming In’, ‘Make It Easy On Yourself’, ‘The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Any.

Three unrelated musicians – Scott Engel, John Maus and Gary Leeds – each adopted the surname Walker. The chart-topping, Burt Bacharach-penned Make It Easy on Yourself remains one of Scott Walker's signatures, and one of the greatest breakup songs ever. The Walker Brothers reformed in the 1970s, and their brilliant final album together, Nite Flights, again foreshadows Walker's later, weirder work. The four songs that Walker contributed range from the strutting glam of the title track and Shutout, to the glacial soundscape of The Electrician. Walker's take on the slick soft rock of the 1980s – in his only album that decade – is predictably off-beam. Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler on guitar meets circular-breathing sax from Evan Parker; pristine production is made eerie by dissonant chords.

Produced by John McIntyre & Fraser T. Smith. Dancing on My Own Lyrics. I just wanna dance all night And I’m all messed up, I’m so out of line, yeah Stilettos and broken bottles I’m spinning around in circles. So far away, but still so near The lights come on, the music dies But you don't see me standing here I just came to say goodbye. I'm in the corner, watching you kiss her, ohh And I'm giving it my all But I'm not the guy you're taking home, oooh I keep dancing on my own And oh, nah Said I'm in the corner, watching you kiss her, oh no And I'm right over here, why can't you see me?

It was performed by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. It is one of the best-selling singles of all time, having sold over 6 million copies among the United States, the United Kingdom, and France alone, with estimates of more than 15 million copies sold overall. Scott Walker has sadly left us. Here’s some info about him.
