1975 9 октября 1975 года у Леннона родился сын, названный Шоном.

1980 8 декабря 1980 года был убит гражданином США Марком Дэвидом Чепменом.

Imagine is the second studio album by John Lennon after his departure from the Beatles. Recorded and released in 1971, the album's musical arrangements are more elaborate compared to the basic, small-group arrangements of his first album, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band. Imagine is the most popular of Lennon's solo albums and the title track is considered by many to be one of Lennon's finest songs. In 2012, the album was voted 80th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".

Released September 9, 1971. After the primal-scream therapy of Plastic Ono Band, John Lennon softened up and opened up on his second solo album. There is still the stinging Gimme Some Truth and Lennon’s evisceration of Paul McCartney, How Do You Sleep? – both featuring George Harrison on guitar. But there is also the aching soul of John Lennon and the irresistible vulnerability of Oh Yoko! Imagine is self-consciously luminescent, pointedly embraceable, the sound of cynicism melting.

While the album had a softer surface, it was only marginally less confessional than its predecessor. Underneath the sweet strings of "Jealous Guy" lies a broken and scared man, the jaunty "Crippled Inside" is a mocking assault at an acquaintance, and "Imagine" is a paean for peace in a world with no gods, possessions, or classes, where everyone is equal

Imagine is John Lennon’s second solo album release, in the autumn of 1971, full of brilliant songs, great hooks and John’s ever-present acerbic wit. Published on. September 9, 2018. Recording his new album was done in three separate stages, the first between 11 and 16 February, followed by another from 24 to 28 May, before some final overdubs and mixing in New York over the 4th of July weekend. The earlier sessions were at Abbey Road and the May sessions were at the Lennon’s home studio at Tittenhurst Park, the New York sessions in July were at the Record Plant. Imagine is a very different album from the one that went before it, as John told David Sheff in 1980, The album Imagine was after Plastic Ono. I call it Plastic Ono with chocolate coating.

Imagine begins with the title track, John Lennon's most famous song. If Imagine was an attempt to reach beyond the political norms, Crippled Inside, Jealous Guy, It's So Hard and How? returned to the personal introspection of John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band. Imagine is one of the great albums. Whilst its predecessor John Lennon and The Plastic Ono Band is his best album, this is the next best and a classic in its own right. Obviously the title track is a timeless beautiful song. Jealous Guy is a heartfelt gem and I also love Bryan Ferrys brilliant interpretation of it that came out in1981 after Lennons death. This is an album of contrasting moods in true John Lennon style.

Imagine (John Lennon album), Imagine is the second studio album by John Lennon Recorded and released in 1971, the album is more heavily produced in contrast to the basic, ra. The album is the most popular of his solo works and the title track is considered one of Lennon's finest songs In 2012, Imagine was voted 80th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time"2.

John Lennon will be best remembered for this album &, though it doesn't quite measure up to Plastic Ono Band, it's still an excellent album. It would be the last really good album that Lennon would release. One person found this helpful. IMAGINE- This is a song that Lennon wrote to impress upon people that our differences are actually what makes life harder and makes it difficult to live without war. Differences in religion, social class, etc. Many people hate it because of its lyrical content.
