London, UK. Ill considered are a band comprising four musicians interacting with each other to create freely improvised music, based loosely around simple pre-written themes or composed on the spot. Deep grooves and plaintive melodies ranging from whispered chants to monstrous climaxes, the group react to the mood of the audience and the sonics of the room to create music that is unique to the moment.

Ill Considered are Idris Rahman (saxophone), Leon Brichard (bass), Emre Ramazanoglu (drums) and Will Fry (percussion). They improvise on simple pre-written themes or compose on the spot to create deep grooves and plaintive melodies, ranging from whispered chants to monstrous climaxes.

The brief accompanying notes offer an explanation as to why each album has been considered important. Ill Considered’s 5th and 6th albums were recorded just over a year after their first. One studio album (Ill Considered 3) plus two live albums completed the vinyl output in their prolific first year. Albums 5 and 6 clearly demonstrate the development of the band’s sound and the interaction between the players. Taking only a few sketches of tunes into the studio over a two day period, the albums are still largely fully improvised.
