Subliminal Genocide (2xLP, Album, Ltd, Num, TP, W/Lbl). referencing Subliminal Genocide, CD, Album, HH666-115, BKR013. I have the grey/black splatter variant. I bought a new, sealed copy and there is only one printed inner sleeve, the c/d disc came in a clear sleeve with a small insert that included lyrics to Prison of Mirrors. Does that sound right? Subliminal Genocide is even more brutally piercing- its corners are sharp, shrieking, petulant, and dense. To create that patented quicksand cocoon, he uses sundry effects and pedals, cello, guitar (classical acoustic and electric) and bass, keyboards, an army of drum machines, and some mics to capture his brilliant howl. Caveat: If Subliminal Genocide's your first black metal album, you might find it a bit repetitious. It's not. Listen closely.
Prison of Mirrors is one of the more melodic songs, the message being about someone who hates himself being trapped in a room of mirrors, with nothing to look at but himself, also with nothing to kill himself with.
Listen free to Xasthur – Subliminal Genocide (Disharmonic Convergence, The Prison of Mirrors and more). Strange things are a foot in the bowels of hell: After more than a decade of eluding non-metal ears, Xasthur has stepped outside the extreme music tinderbox for his bone-rattling fifth album, Subliminal Genocide. Comprised solely of Scott Conner, aka Malefic, Xasthur's .
Xasthur - Subliminal Genocide 4 songs lyrics: Disharmonic Convergence, The Prison of Mirrors, Trauma will Always Linger, Malice Hidden in Surrealism.
Album · 2006 · 11 Songs. See All. Telepathic With the Deceased. A Gate Through Bloodstained Mirrors.
Subliminal Genocide is not an utterly worthless album. Xasthur does manage to generate many intriguing and haunting atmospheres throughout this album, although, atmospheres are only useful if there is quality music to back them up. Sadly, Malefic tends to use one uninteresting riff and utilize it through the entire song. All of the songs are very drug out and tiring because of this fact. Another major distraction to enjoying this album is the way the drum machine is used. The drumming is very simple, always relying on the same beat over and over again through the songs.
