Amon Düül II (or Amon Düül 2) is a German rock band. The group is generally considered to be one of the founders of the Krautrock scene and a seminal influence on its development. The band emerged from the radical West German commune scene of the late 1960s, with others in the same commune including some of the future founders of the Red Army Faction.
The second album by Amon Düül II (not to be confused with the more anarchic radicals Amon Düül), 1970's Yeti, is their first masterpiece, one of the defining early albums of Krautrock. A double album on vinyl, Yeti consists of a set of structured songs and a second disc of improvisations. It's testament to the group's fluidity and improvisational grace that the two albums don't actually sound that different from each other, and that the improvisational disc may actually be even better than the composed disc.

The politically-charged Amon Duul II enjoyed a relative success after the release of their debut album Phallus Dei. At the turn of the 70's, the band released their sophomore effort Yeti, which has grown to become one of audience's favorties and a classic krautrock record. The sound of Yeti is strongly rooted in psychedelia.

Yeti is a double LP by krautrock band Amon Düül II which was first released in 1970 on Liberty (Germany: LBS 83359/60 X; United Kingdom: LSP 101). The album was produced by Olaf Kübler and Amon Düül II, and engineered by Willy Schmidt, "with a little help of Siegfried E. Loch". Including both short songs and longer, improvisational tracks, British avant-garde music magazine The Wire describes Yeti as "one of the cornerstones of both Amon Düül's career and the entire Krautrock movement.
