The Doors – Original Soundtrack Recording: is a rare collection published in 1991 for the Japanese market as a result of the release of Oliver Stone The Doors, consists of 14 tracks including one of the Velvet Underground and the other played by The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra And Chorus.

The film features Kyle MacLachlan as Ray Manzarek, Frank Whaley as Robby Krieger, Kevin Dillon as John Densmore, and Kathleen Quinlan as Patricia Kennealy.

Oliver Stone's homage to 1960s rock group The Doors also doubles as a biography of the group's late singer, the "Electric Poet" Jim Morrison. The movie follows Morrison from his days as a film student in Los Angeles to his death in Paris, France at age 27 in 1971. For Oliver Stone has crafted a marvellous film which makes you feel like you've experienced what the sixties were like. Through using The Doors actual music (what was missing from the recent Sylvia, the art of the subject itself - her poetry) to help tell its story and colour its scenes, and filmic techniques to create the drug-induced world vision of Jim Morrison, Stone really takes you into the world of his movie, and the world of the sixties. This movie made me appreciate what an exciting experience The Doors were, and has actually cultivated love in me for their music.

The Doors - An American Prayer (1978). To Come of Age- Stoned Immaculate. The Poet’s Dream- The Movie. The Poet’s Dream- Curses, Invocations. World on Fire- American Night.

The Doors captured for eternity the raw, vital, hypnotic excitement of four fearless artists. In honor of the album’s 50th anniversary, here are 10 little-known facts about the record’s conception and reception. 1. Light My Fire was the first song Robby Krieger ever wrote. The Doors’ guitarist may have had the greatest beginner’s luck in rock history. Lacking representation and struggling financially, the band took an unglamorous gig at Parthenon Pictures providing incidental music for a Ford Motor Company customer service training film titled Love Thy Customer. The Doors piled into a cramped screening room at Los Angeles’ Rampart Studios, where they viewed the 25-minute clip on a small monitor. They composed a soundtrack largely on the spot, jamming live as the scenes flickered past.
