Sandy Posey (born Sandra Lou Posey, June 18, 1944) is an American popular singer who enjoyed success in the 1960s with singles such as her 1966 recording of Martha Sharpe's compositions "Born a Woman" and "Single Girl". Album: Top Hits - I Take It Back - EP, 2008. Charted at on Billboard Hot 100 in January 1967, and on UK Singles chart. Charted again at on UK Singles chart in September 1975 when re-released. An identifiable, good lyric. Released as a single in November 1966. Written by Martha Sharp. B-side is "Blue is My Best Color".

Single Girl" would become "The" song Sandy is known for, being released during Christmas Time 1966. I Take It Back" is a versatile song going from Pop to Country in the mind of a passive aggressive girl. Born A Woman" is a great song and should never be labeled as "demeaning" when Martha Sharp (songwriter) is in great support of women. Very nice UK release by Sandy Posey ! With her sweet pop country voice she sold a lot of records in the 1960's and 1970's.
