Ronnie Baker Brooks - Times Have Changed (Official Lyric Video).
Times Have Changed, Brooks’ first album in ten years, carries with it the weight of grown perspective and time spent perfecting old material. Brooks worked it with Steve Jordan, whose work runs from Keith Richards to Stevie Wonder, John Mayer and Eric Clapton. I decided to go to Memphis and Nashville for the particular musicians and studios I wanted to engage, Jordan explained. That was my intention on this record: to build that bridge. Ronnie Baker Brooks – Times Have Changed. Label: Provogue Release date: 20 January 2017.

As a native Chicagoan, I'm partial to the blues, soul, and R&B that Ronnie Baker Brooks includes on Times Have Changed; the album is an awesome tribute to the aforementioned genres popular in the Chicago of the '70s and early '80s. I purchased the LP release (RBB's first release in 10 years) at one of his live shows, having never heard any of his studio work. The quality of the mastering is very good, and if you're a fan of Curtis Mayfield and the Blues Brothers you'll most definitely enjoy this record. It has the added benefit of a Mayfield cover and a guest.
Ronnie Baker Brooks, son of blues great Lonnie Brooks, releases his "Times Have Changed", first album in 10 years on Provogue on January 20, 2017. In early 2013 Ronnie Baker Brooks traveled to the late Willie Mitchell's fabled Royal Studios in Memphis. There he recorded a clutch of new songs with producer/drummer Steve Jordan (Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Robert Cray), the Memphis Horns, and the mighty Hi Rhythm section. The sessions also featured performances by musical friends like Angie Stone, Al Kapone, Big Head Todd and the legendary Bobby Blue Bland.
