McVicar is a British drama film released in 1980 by The Who Films, Lt. starring Roger Daltrey of the Who in the title role of John McVicar. John McVicar was a 1960s armed robber turned writer whom Scotland Yard publicly announced to be Public Enemy Number One and "wanted dead or alive". The film was directed by Tom Clegg, and was based on the non-fiction book McVicar by Himself, which John McVicar wrote to describe several months of his experiences in prison

Roger Harry Daltrey was born on 1 March 1944, in Hammersmith Hospital, East Acton, west London, England, one of three children of Harry and Irene Daltrey. Daltrey's father fought in World War II at the time, and came home a few years later  . McVicar was billed as a soundtrack album for the film of the same name, in which Daltrey starred and also co-produced.
