The Album "R" version is not my cup of tea. The radio version is a great R&B sound of the old school (circa 1960s). I have not paid any attention to Pop music since the middle 1980s. But the radio version of 'Turn Back the Hands of Time', blew my mind. I came of age in the late 50s - early 60s so there are many roads I wish I would have taken. This song says it all for me and probably for many of my generation. It great to hear a young black Artist going back to his R&B roots and not down the dead end streets of Hip-Hop

Rock music emerged from the ’60s as to go-to choice of white youth culture. Soul and funk were reaching new levels of artistry. Punk, the first serious backlash against the rock mainstream, came into its own. Records from Jamaica were making their way to the UK and, eventually, the . changing sounds and urging a new kind of political consciousness. It was only when he rerecorded it in Paris, and that version fell into the hands of New York Loft DJ David Mancuso and radio DJ Frankie Crocker, that it spread like wildfire, even cracking the American Top 40. Historically, makossa, the popular Cameroonian dance music, is a mix of soukous, highlife, and traditional Douala dance rhythms. The Whispers formed in Los Angeles in the mid-’60s and were hardly seen as cutting-edge by the time they released And the Beat Goes On in 1979.
darlin' you, you'd still be mine Funny, funny how time goes by And blessings are missed in the wink of an eye Why oh why oh why should one have to go on suffering When every day I pray please come back to me If I could turn, turn back the hands of time Then my darlin' you'd still be mine. back that little clock on the wall (If I could turn back) Then I'd come to realize how much I love you Love you love you love you (If I could turn back the hands).
