936 is a 2011 neo-psychedelic album by Peaking Lights, a Spring Green, Wisconsin-based husband-and-wife duo of Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis. Peaking Lights stepped outside of the lo-fi style of their previous recordings, recording in a studio for the first time, and infused their psychedelic pop style with sounds from dub and hypnagogic chillwave. 936 became independent label Not Not Fun's best-selling release, and was consequently picked up for UK release by Weird World.

Peaking Lights are a husband and wife music duo who met in San Francisco in 2006 and moved to Spring Green, Wisconsin in December 2007 where they lived until 2009 then moved to Madison, Wisconsin from 2009-2011, they returned to the west coast to live in Los Angeles, California where they currently live.

Peaking Lights is a music duo of a husband and wife which was originally formed in 2008. In their third album Lucifer, their son Mikko contributed in vocals and helped them with producing it. Peaking Lights performed live a lot and even released its own self-titled album called Clearvoiant. They were also among the people that contributed in to The Flaming Lips’ ‘The Time Has Come To Shoot You Down’ and ‘What A Sound’, a reworking of the Stone Roses debut album in 2013. They really did well in psychedelic genre and songs in their prime days. Though they were described as psychedelic pop, Peaking Lights changed their music with Cosmic Logic on their album Lucifer. They were doing great with this music as well. Unlike many other artists, Peaking Lights created a great deal of music and special ones because they work together not just as a team but as husband and wife.

Peaking Lights work like a kaleidoscope, and not only because their music is so richly colored and fluid. The basic patterns are laid out right in front of you- catchy drum loops, loping bass rhythms, oily groove patterns- while the smaller, stranger details in your periphery help tie everything together. Take "Birds of Paradise (Dub Version)", a song that best characterizes Peaking Lights' . Aaron Coyes lets the clunky drums and bass line anchor the song neatly, while Indra Dunis provides some bewitching, hymn-like vocals

Peaking Lights: 936. November 19 2011, 12:01am, The Times. The second album from the Winconsin duo Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis was originally released on Not Not Fun, the hipster LA label, but is getting a welcome UK release on Weird World. Coyes is an electronics whizz, building his own synths and effects boxes to give their music a unique sound. 936, their second album, takes in afrobeat, reggae, pop and krautrock, with lo-fi production that adds a rickety charm
