Often compared (favourably) to the nervy, hyper-literate pop of Elvis Costello (at the time a new phenomenon), Any Trouble really had a bit more of the Joe Jackson sound to them; but for my money their debut album, Where Are All the Nice Girls, bests either of Jackson's most similar -and admittedly great- first two albums.

Consumer Guide Album. Any Trouble: Where Are All Nice Girls? In which Clive Gregson attempts to answer the burning new-wave question: what would Elvis Costello be like if he weren't an obscurantist? And convinces no one that Joe Jackson is the right answer.

Where Are All the Nice Girls? is the debut studio album by English band Any Trouble, released in 1980 by Stiff Records. The album was produced by John Wood and the band gained significant visibility after featuring on a Melody Maker front cover and in a very positive article by Allan Jones. Album: Where Are All the Nice Girls? Heyo! SONGLYRICS just got interactive. He said it ain't the kind of party where they kick you out the door and they leave you in the gutter can't remember what you've done. Traffic piles up in the city weekend lurches into gear got that Friday 7: 30 feeling in my bones if you lose playing Bogart you're better on your own good time people make excuses on their telephones. Give me something for the man who doesn't have to try too hard spend a little time rehearsing my tom petty leer well i dressed up for my conquest come out fighting no holds barred and i pray for courage and some halfway decent beer.

Growin' Up. This song is by Any Trouble and appears on the album Where Are All The Nice Girls? (1980). This song is a cover of "Growin' Up" by Bruce Springsteen. Well I stood stone-like at midnightSuspended in my masqueradeAnd I combed my hair 'til it was just right And commanded the night brigade. I was open to painAnd crossed by the rain And I walked on a crooked crutchAnd I strolled all alone Through the fallout zone Came out with my soul untouched.

7. Turning Up the Heat.
