DeVito in Cool World. Born DeVito's second album, Wake 'Em Up in Tokyo was released by A&M in 1986. Her song, "We Are Not Alone", was featured in the motion picture The Breakfast Club (1985). Nobody Makes Me Crazy Like You Do", was recorded by Diana Ross on her album Swept Away.

Karla put out 2 full length albums- 1981/Epic Label- "IS THIS A COOL WORLD OR WHAT?", and 1986/A&M Label- "WAKE 'EM UP IN TOKYO"- both excellent albums that show off her big powerhouse voice. I just wish a record company would sign her up and get more material out before she gets too old to rock. She'll always be one of my faves. I wish they had used the 30 min. interview from the 1981 promotional LP called "Karla DeVito- Interchords", which contained 5 tracks from the COOL WORLD album and interview). She does a nice version of Jim Steinman's "HEAVEN CAN WAIT"- which Meatloaf covered on his Bat Out Of Hell album in 1977. Around this time Karla appeared on various tv shows to promote the LP- somewhere out there are clips of her on Johnny Carson, American Bandstand, et. and I'm sure there are also promo videos for the album out there.

Karla’s second album after Is This A Cool World Or What? was to be called Incognito. For this recording, Karla reunited the band from her Cool World Tour in NYC: Russ Shirley and Jeff Southworth on guitar, Jim Ryan on bass, and Robert Medici on drums. Keyboard player Jim Lang was on another tour, so Karla called Sterling Smith, an old friend who worked with The Beach Boys. Sterling played on Karla’s first demos, (originating the catchy keyboard riff that begins Is This A Cool World or What? )  . Here is the unreleased title track to the album that was to be Karla DeVito Incognito. Co-written with Karla’s talented Cool World collaborator, Danny Lawson.

According to the spine and record label on my copy, the catalog number is PE 37014. I don't know if this is worth a submission, so if someone sees my "message in a bottle," please feel free to respond with advice.
I don't see any version listed that has "PE 37014" (just ones with the "NFE" and "FE" prefixes), so feel free to add that.
