Take nothing I say too seriously.

Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt is the fifteenth studio album by American electronica musician Moby. It was released on March 2, 2018, through record labels Little Idiot and Mute. In 2016 and 2017, Moby released two albums with his musical project Moby & The Pacific Void Choir, These Systems Are Failing and More Fast Songs About the Apocalypse, which largely tackled Moby's views on the 2016 United States presidential election and the national political climate

Today, he hasn't shied away from the political climate in his everyday life, but he's largely keeping it out of his music with the trip-hop-inspired Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt, releasing March 2, 2018 via Mute. It goes back to the humanity of it," Moby tells Billboard. And I also feel like that’s a better way to get us to stop making terrible choices, if you can actually deal with people with compassion and understand why they’re making these terrible choices in the first place. In anticipation of the LP, Moby speaks on how his opinion on politics has changed in the wake of the 2016 elections, the inspiration for lead single "Like a Motherless Child" featuring Raquel Rodriguez and why he doesn't identify as a career musician.

The lead single, "Like A Motherless Child," is a re-work of the Southern spiritual of the same name. Moby's next album, Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt, comes out in March. The new LP sees him returning to his "soul, trip-hop and gospel roots," the label says. The lead single, "Like A Motherless Child," featuring Los Angeles singer Raquel Rodriguez, is a loose cover of the well-known spiritual of the same name, which has its origins in the slave songs of the American South. Certainly, Everything Was Beautiful is the most vulnerable album Moby has made in years, one that doesn’t shy away from desolation and also acknowledges that, within helplessness, beauty can arise. That’s the dynamic that has made Moby’s most moving tracks work: the impulse to luxuriate in despair, to find the lushness in it, rather than shut it down and shove it away. He does that well on Everything Was Beautiful, but he’s already done it better.

DISCOGS algorithm brought me here: even when I don't own a single copy by MOBY .

If you are a moby fan and love the remixes that he tends to make of tracks off his own albums, especially during the last few years, then this journey is going to be for you. I actually bought this album's parent on a physical disc, that is how much I value having a moby collection and I really wish that this album of EWB&NH remixes was available on CDs.All of the remixes herein have the feel that moby himself actually mixed them all himself although I may be incorrect and he chose in some instances remixers who he felt would do justice to the vibe that he wanted running throughout this project. The 10:33 long glory mix of «Falling Rain and Light» is a literal and aural godsend invoking Alan Lomax's field recordings of negro singers from the first half of the twentieth century, which made moby his name on his seminal album Play (which I was one of the only six thousand purchasers of the album in its first week of release. It took a whole year for Play to make it into the mainstream radio playlists). Well that mix of "Falling" has a negress humming with her beautiful voice throughout the last two thirds of that awesome mix and although this is the only mix that features vocalists of the style of Lomax's recordings, the complementary style of moby style remixage runs a current throughout the whole very long, but never taxing journey that make up this album of remixes.Five stars and this counts non-moby fans in as well I believe. Very listenable to come back to again and again.

Good 4U(my two words I entered to make up your shortfall. I was listening to him then too. I was elated when Daniel Miller signed him to mute records. Oh to be once again in the full bloom of youth)

I was listening to Moby years before 'Play'... At least 10 words must be entered. Please enter at least 2 more.
