'Detroit Loft' comes over with more than a subtle smack of Oliver Ho's 90's minimal techno, particularly his output for Blueprint records. Which BTW is a good thing...
Definitely DO buy this record to listen to, groove to, or just chill to. Amazing stuff here. However, A1 is a bit out of place on this record. A frantic piece of IDM glitch-tronica that's a little too keyed up for it's own good. After this is when the record really gets started, or gets weird depending on your taste. The following 3 tracks each have a repetitve theme, but everything above and below in the mix is in constant flux. I've heard it described as Jeff Mills on K, which seems to peg A2 and B1 on the nose. The last cut is almost a hybrid of all the above, stuck in a blender and served up with a liberal dose of early Jack Dangers - deep and dubby. Can't recommend this record enough.
Don't buy this record to "listen" to it, you'll be dissapointed. For example A2 is over and over the same rythm pattern, and the other track are quite in the same way. On the other hand if you're into DJing, it will be a nice record to own. It's mainly metallic or industrial beat tracks with little layers sometimes, and mixes perfectly with dark ambient-techno AFX type of tracks.
