The band included Booker Little, Mal Waldron, Richard Davis and Eddie Blackwell. Here in the States, the Five Spot dates were broken up to be presented not as they occurred, but as they were sequenced and taken from each night and different sets on each night; they were issued in separate volumes. This is the first set presented as recorded in very decent mono sound. For the price, you can't beat it.

This was the only night to be recorded; the engineer was Rudy Van Gelder. A third volume from this session was released, titled Memorial Album, containing "Number Eight (Potsa Lotsa)" and "Booker's Waltz".
